In 2018 MKGreen Solutions started operating as a community clean up project, then joined the Msunduzi kerb recycling initiative programme which included the collection of recyclables from households, schools and some local businesses. In 2020 our company was established as a formal business providing waste removal and disposal services for general, food and construction waste. Due to the pandemic we expanded our services by providing deep cleaning and disinfection services. The company is running a recycling project in Inkosi Langalibalele municipality and provides waste removal services where collections, sorting and repurposing of waste is done for a number of households and businesses. Phumelele Nonkala is the founder and CEO of MKGreen Solutions. Her Bachelor of Architectural studies (B. Arch) helps bring a forward-thinking vision to MKG. She has 6 years' experience in the built environment, and 4 years' experience in the waste management sector.
Phumelele combines her technical expertise with a deep passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship. She is dedicated to transforming the waste management industry in South Africa and building a greener future through innovative solutions.

Siyabonga is the Operations Director at MKGreen Solutions and has more than 7 years' experience in the waste and recycling industry. With a background in Business Management, he is instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of operations, from waste collection to recycling and sustainability initiatives. His expertise lies in optimizing processes, fostering team collaboration, and driving innovative solutions.
Siyabonga is also deeply passionate about empowering the next generation. A devoted sports enthusiast, he trains and mentors young children through sports, believing in its power to build discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Siyabonga's leadership, coupled with his commitment to community development and environmental sustainability, plays a pivotal role in the growth of MKG.
